IntraHealth is one of the UK’s leading providers of NHS Primary and Community Care services. We serve a range of patients across our three divisions of Primary Care (general practice), Pharmacy and Clinical Services which includes anticoagulation monitoring, patient medication reviews and childhood immunisation programmes.
We are a well-established organisation having provided NHS services since 1999. We operate NHS services across the North East, Yorkshire, the midlands and North West. Our team is made up of a wide range of healthcare professionals and administrative roles including GPs, Advanced Nurse Practitioners (ANPs), Nurses, Pharmacists, Health Care Assistants (HCAs) and local administration teams. Our frontline teams are supported by a centralised back office function; providing executive, finance, HR, administration and data analysis support.
IntraHealth are recruiting Bank Immunisation Nurses to join our Immunisation and Vaccination Team. This will initially to be to work with GP practices in deprived areas to support increasing immunisation uptake. The target cohort is the 0-5 population however the immunisation status of the wider family will also be considered and acted upon. This programme will run for 6 months, commencing January 2025. Upon completion of this programme you will be able to stay on our bank and support with the school immunisation programme and any other programmes that are running at the time.
Successful candidates will be expected to work both autonomously and as part of a team and will be based in one of our 3 offices (Durham, Sunderland, Stockton). The role involves liaising with nominated GP practices to identify individuals with outstanding immunisations; contacting parents to discuss immunisations and address any barriers to immunisation; administer vaccines in community and home settings. Applicants must have a car with business insurance and be prepared to drive across the region to administer the vaccinations. We hope to recruit individuals from across the region to minimise travelling therefore please state in your covering letter which areas you would be prepared to travel to. The travel from base (or 10 miles from your home) is part of your working day and you will also receive a travel allowance. The ideal candidate will be able to offer 2-5 sessions per week and provide these dates in advance.
A comprehensive training package will be delivered therefore experience in delivering immunisations is desirable but not essential.
